This is the official Teldrana Wiki.

On the continent of Teldrana, two great kingdoms stand divided by nature and history: Rivain, the Kingdom of Demons, and Solest, the Kingdom of Mortals.Long ago, these rival realms were forced into an uneasy alliance to defeat a dark threat that spilled into their world from beyond, and though they emerged victorious, the peace that followed was built on deception rather than trust. In secret, the Solestian royal family bound Rivain with a hidden curse meant to ensure control — no demon of royal blood may ever harm the mortal royal line, directly or indirectly, without suffering a terrible and irrevocable price.A thousand years of fragile peace followed, sustained by restraint and resentment alike, but now that ancient balance begins to fracture as old wounds resurface, political tensions rise, and the specter of war looms once more. In a land shaped by power, betrayal, and forbidden magic, the question remains whether peace forged through fear can ever truly endure.

History

The Old World

To understand the lore of this world better, it is best to understand what the Old World was first. The first beings of the Old World were powerful demigods who ruled long before both demons and mortals came into existence, created by the One True God.After a great conflict between the One True God and the demigods, the One True God erased the demigods from existence by splitting the demigods powers into two halves — demons and mortals — binding them in eternal opposition against one another. The One True God then gave the reigns to the last two demigods who had helped him betray the other demigods, Aurias and Kraxis.Over a period of many centuries of infighting between the two 'new' races, they have slowly started to forget about the truth of the Old World and what it represented. And somehow in the midst of this forgetting, both Aurias and Kraxis had become Gods in a sense to both races.Aurias, for the race of mortalkind is known as a benevolent but powerful being. Kraxis, for the race of demonkind is known as an almighty but dangerous being. However, in recent times as of the current 12th century, there has been a cult making themselves known to the world. The Cult of the One. This cult is a secretive and fanatical group devoted to the One True God. They believe all of the other gods are false and seek to destroy them and any lingering demigods that exist to this day. Ruthless and shadowy, they use dark rituals and violence to spread their influence all across the lands of Teldrana.

The Kingdoms of Teldrana & the Pact

On the continent of Teldrana, there are two great kingdoms. Rivain, the Kingdom of Demons and Solest, the Kingdom of Mortals. In the early years 100s to 200s, the Solestian royal family placed a hidden curse on Rivain’s royal bloodline during an ancient pact between the Kingdom of Solest and Kingdom of Rivain to stop a war against the cursed beasts that had been threatening the existence of both kingdoms:Bound by the divine magic of the ancient pact, any Ravaryn who harms or kills a Solestian royal will turn to stone, their soul devoured by Solest’s chosen heir from the Marwyn family. However, the Rivanian Royal Family realized too late that this pact was actually a curse. The curse remains even now as unbroken, a silent leash disguised as peace between the two kingdoms... and a silent war would begin.
There is a secret clause however that if a Solestian royal harms the chosen heir from the Avenhart family then the curse will be released.
What is Chosen, you may ask? Why it is the head of the respective Chosen family within their respective kingdom that holds all the powers and abilities they've inherited from the their specific God.Chosen families such as the Marwyns (Solest) and Avenharts (Rivain) are respected within each kingdom for being prominent descendants of the gods, Aurias and Kraxis.

Currency of Teldrana

NAMEDESCRIPTION
GildThe Gild is the basic gold coin of Teldrana, worth 1 unit. Thin and simple, it’s the coin of everyday life — market stalls, ferries, tavern meals, and small trades. Its name comes from an old Solestian word meaning “earned,” honoring honest labor.
AurexWorth 10 Gild, the Aurex is thicker and heavier, commonly used by merchants, guards, traveling caravans, and soldiers’ wages. Each Aurex bears twin marks: a stylized sun on one side and a warding rune on the other.
CrownValued at 100 Gild, the Crown is a broad ceremonial coin rarely seen by commoners. Used for land deeds, noble contracts, bribes that change destinies, and payments tied to major wars or magic. The Crown carries two faces — one honoring Solest’s divine heritage, the other depicting Rivain’s ancient demonic pact.

Universal Laws

These are the universal laws all across the continent of Teldrana.

Life Sanctity

Taking the life of another sentient being without just cause (self-defense, war, or sanctioned execution) is strictly forbidden; punishment varies by region and species, ranging from exile to magical binding or execution. Certain demon and human regions allow sanctioned blood duels under strict codes of honor.

Property and Territory

Theft, encroachment, or seizure of property without consent is prohibited; offenders may face fines, enforced labor, or magical restitution. Tribal and duchy lands carry stricter territorial penalties for transgressors.

Oaths, Pacts, and Bloodbinding

Spoken, written, or magically sealed agreements are sacred; breaking them without just cause can result in fines, exile, loss of rank, or arcane punishment if magically bound. Blood pacts carry mortal and mystical consequences across all of Teldrana.

Magic Regulation

Uncontrolled or aggressive use of magic against others is forbidden outside sanctioned duels or warfare. Enforcement is conducted by royal mages, cultist circles, or regional councils, depending on local governance.

Divine and Ancestral Respect

Desecration of temples, shrines, ancestral tombs, or relics of the Gods is a severe crime; punishments include exile, magical curses, or ritual penance as dictated by the offended faith.

Trade and Commerce

Merchants and traders must uphold fair dealings; cheating, hoarding, or smuggling is punishable by fines, seizure of goods, or restricted trade licenses. Cross-continent trade agreements are enforced by merchant guilds.

Noble Conduct and Diplomacy

Noble houses, duchies, and kingdoms must honor treaties, alliances, and conventions. Violations can lead to war, loss of title, or mandated reparations. It is treasonous to work with the opposite Kingdom's houses for your own noble house's benefit.

Regions

The continent of Teldrana stretches from the demon-founded Kingdom of Rivain in the far west to the radiant Kingdom of Solest in the east, with each realm fortified and defined by its natural and constructed borders.Rivain’s royal capital sits at the heart of the kingdom, projecting measured strength and practical authority, while to its east, the Drevanis Estate looms like a grim citadel near the Iscaron Duchy, which itself forms Rivain’s eastern bulwark with rugged plains, shadowed pine forests, and the towering Iscaron Hold, guarding vigilantly against Solest. To the west, the Varkess Duchy rises along jagged cliffs and windswept forests, acting as a strategic outpost and defensive shield for Rivain, while the northern Vauntrais Estate clings to storm-battered cliffs overlooking the restless sea, its beacon tower guiding travelers and marking the unyielding pride of House Vauntrais.Across the continent, Solest’s shining capital Aurelia descends terraced toward the River Lioren, its spires of enchanted glass reflecting sunlight in prismatic colors, and at its core sits the radiant Solar Palace, seat of political and divine power. To the northeast, the Veynar Duchy watches the northern frontier with vigilance, its pale stone Veynar Keep overseeing forests, hills, and rivers that thread through the frost-touched valleys, while within Aurelia, noble estates such as the Marwyn Estate—home to the Chosen family of Aurias—and the elegant Valemont Estate anchor Solest’s political, divine, and magical influence.

Between these eastern and western powers lie trade routes, passes, and minor settlements forming corridors of interaction, tension, and occasional cooperation, linking Rivain and Solest across the continent’s rugged wilderness, open plains, and coastal stretches, with each region’s fortresses, estates, and duchies shaping the flow of movement, defense, and authority throughout Teldrana.

The Kingdom of Rivain

The Kingdom of Rivain lies in the far west side of the continent of Teldrana.Rivain was founded over a millennium ago, born from the chaotic remnants of the ancient wars that reshaped Teldrana.Demons were thought to have emerged from the dark rifts between worlds (just an old superstition) — beings of great power and raw elemental force. Initially wild and untamed, demonkind gradually forged the Kingdom of Rivain amidst the harsh, unforgiving lands on the continent’s western side.Through blood, will, and arcane mastery, Rivain rose into a structured society led by a formidable royal family: the Ravaryns. Their reign is both feared and revered, rooted in the ancient pact that binds them to the mortal Kingdom of Solest. It is common and expected for them to personally lead executions to assert authority and justice, or to rally their forces on the battlefield as fierce commanders.

Capital

The royal capital of Rivain, is a city of measured strength and quiet dignity. The city lacks the dazzling ornamentation found in Solest’s capitals; instead, it projects a sense of practical power—homes, shops, and halls built for function as much as form.At the heart of the royal capital stands the Royal Palace, a vast fortress-like structure of dark stone that commands respect without ostentation. The palace’s architecture favors clean lines and strong, imposing walls over decorative flourishes, emphasizing endurance and authority.Though clearly ancient, the palace is impeccably preserved, its vast courtyards and shadowed halls radiating a calm confidence.

The Drevanis Estate

The Drevanis Estate looms like a fortress on Rivain’s eastern border not far from the Iscaron Duchy, its black-stone walls scarred by centuries of war and harsh winds.Surrounded by dense forests and misty hills, the stronghold is more grim citadel than noble manor, its towers crowned with iron spires and battlements ever watchful toward Solest.Inside, the halls are cold and austere, yet hidden within are a grand library, an aviary, and quiet gardens where the Margrave retreats to brood and find rare moments of peace.

Iscaron Duchy

The Iscaron Duchy stands as Rivain’s eastern bulwark, pressed against the restless border it shares with Solest. Its lands are a rugged mix of windswept plains and shadowed pine forests, where fortified towns cluster near ancient watchtowers that have long guarded against incursion. At its heart looms Iscaron Hold, a towering citadel of dark granite built upon a crag overlooking the borderlands, its walls scarred by centuries of skirmishes yet unbroken.Renowned for its disciplined soldiery and fierce cavalry, the duchy embodies Rivain’s vigilance and pride, a realm where loyalty to crown and homeland is tested daily at the edge of Solest’s reach.

Vauntrais Estate

The Vauntrais estate lay upon the storm-battered cliffs of northern Rivain, a sprawling manor of black stone and slate that seemed hewn from the land itself. Its windswept halls and shadowed corridors reflected the austere character of its lords, more practical than ornate, yet still steeped in an ancestral grandeur. Surrounded by rugged gardens of twisted pines and hardy blooms that clung stubbornly to the northern soil, the estate overlooked the restless sea, its beacon tower serving as both guide and warning to passing ships. Here, amidst salt winds and ceaseless storms, House Vauntrais held its dominion, a symbol of endurance and the unyielding pride of its line.

Varkess Duchy

The Varkess Duchy lay along the western reaches of the Rivain Kingdom, a rugged expanse of jagged cliffs, dense pine forests, and windswept plains that seemed to test the endurance of all who lived there. Its territory served as a strategic outpost for Rivain, guarding the approach to the kingdom’s heartland while keeping watch over the restless wilds that teemed with both mundane and unnatural dangers. At its center stood Varkess Hold, a dark granite fortress with soaring spires carved to resemble serpents and beasts, its walls scarred by centuries of battle yet still unyielding.

Appearance and Abilities of Demons

Demons of Rivain are striking and varied, but share some defining features: often possessing sharp, angular features with skin tones ranging from deep obsidian black and ash gray to crimson and deep violet hues. Many bear horns, tail-like appendages, or faintly glowing markings that pulse with mana—signs of their heritage and connection to primal magic.

Relationship with House Avenhart

The Avenharts are Rivain’s Chosen family, descendants from the demon god worshiped by their people, Kraxis. This divine bloodline sets them apart as the kingdom’s greatest warriors and military leaders. Renowned for their unmatched skill, discipline, and tactical genius, the Avenharts embody the might of Rivain, dedicating their lives to protecting their kingdom and upholding its legacy in battle each generation. However, only one descendant is allowed to awaken such powerful abilities each generation. The Ravaryns govern in close alliance with the Avenharts, the Chosen family of Rivain. Together, they uphold the kingdom’s stability and might.Marriage between these two families is strictly forbidden. The ancient laws decree that their bloodlines must never intermingle, lest the purity of their respective legacies become tainted. Such a union is said to threaten not only political balance but also the delicate magic binding Rivain’s power.

Advancements and Hierarchy

Rivain’s society is deeply hierarchical, with strength and magical prowess determining one’s place. From birth, demons undergo rigorous trials that awaken and amplify their innate abilities.
Demons train extensively in both physical combat and arcane arts. Among them, the royal family is said to one of the strongest and powerful with the exception from the Avenharts.

The Royal Family of Rivain

The Ravaryns are the ruling family of Rivain, marked by their distinctive pale, fair-ish skin—a stark contrast to many of their demon kin. Their most iconic features are their piercing golden eyes, a symbol of their divine right to rule, and their typically black hair, often worn long and meticulously kept.Though the royal family naturally bear horns, tails, and majestic wings like other demons, they usually conceal these traits.
Unlike most nobles who might remain behind thick walls, the Ravaryns embody the warrior-king ideal.
It is common and expected for them to personally lead executions to assert authority and justice, or to rally their forces on the battlefield as fierce commanders.

The Kingdom of Solest

The Kingdom of Solest lies in the far east side of the continent of Teldrana.Solest was thought to have been formed in the wake of the ancient wars, shaped by mortals who emerged from fractured portals with ambition and resolve. However, not even the wisest human or demon would come to know the truth of the Old World.Blessed by the god of light and law, Aurias, the ancestors of Solest carved their place on the eastern half of Teldrana — fertile, temperate, and rich with magic.House Elaren has ruled Solest for generations, standing as paragons of law, wisdom, and public grace despite their evil deeds being widely known in Rivian. With their calm composure and commanding presence, the Elarens lead not through influence, insight, and mastery of light-born magic.

Capital

Aurelia, the capital of Solest, is a city that seems to shimmer as though touched by the very sun itself. Built on terraced hills that descend toward the glimmering River Lioren, its streets are paved with pale stone that gleams when kissed by daylight.Towering spires of enchanted glass reflect the sunlight in prismatic colors, casting dancing lights across plazas, bridges, and courtyards. The city’s architecture balances elegance and authority: polished stone façades, arched windows adorned with gilded tracery, and grand staircases connecting bustling marketplaces to serene gardens. At the heart of the capital city rises the Solar Palace, a masterpiece of radiant architecture where light itself seems to bend in reverence, hiding layers of political intrigue and divine law beneath its golden halls.

Veynar Duchy

The Veynar Duchy occupied the northeastern frontier of the Solest Kingdom, a land of rolling hills, dense pine forests, and rivers that wound like silver threads through frost-touched valleys. Positioned at the edge of the kingdom’s eastern expanse, it served as both a bulwark against the untamed wilds and a symbol of Solest’s enduring reach into the northern lands. At its heart stood Veynar Keep, a pale stone fortress with elegant towers and fortified walls, overlooking the surrounding countryside with unyielding vigilance. The duchy was ruled by Grand Duke Calyrian Veynar, younger brother to King Lumiel Elaren, a man of imposing presence and icy resolve. Stern and calculating, he governed with the precision of a seasoned strategist, balancing the welfare of his lands with the constant awareness of the threats that lurked beyond the forests, ensuring both the safety of his people and the legacy of his family.

Marwyn Estate

The Marwyn Estate occupies a prestigious position within Aurelia, the shining capital of the Solest Kingdom, its elegant spires and manicured gardens set amidst the city’s polished stone terraces and glowing enchanted glasswork.Unlike the imposing fortresses that dotted the duchies, the estate radiates a quiet authority, its beauty underscoring the power and influence of the family that resided within. The grand manor is home to the Marwyns, Solest’s Chosen family, descended from the god Aurias, and renowned for their mastery of divine magic, prophetic foresight, and healing arts.

Valemont Estate

The Valemont Estate stands proudly within Aurelia, its white stone walls gleaming against the sunlit terraces of the capital, a striking contrast to the darker, stonier manors that lined the city streets. Its towers rise gracefully, adorned with delicate carvings and tall windows that reflects the city’s shimmering glasswork, giving the estate an air of refined nobility and quiet prestige.

Appearance and Abilities of Mortals

Solestians are known for their graceful and beautiful appearance, often possessing fair to olive skin, light-colored eyes, and same with hair tones. Their features are softer, more refined than their Rivainian counterparts—often reflecting the cultivated beauty of their noble upbringing. While most mortals lack the primal traits of demons, descendants of certain upper noble lineages sometimes bear faint sigils along their skin that glow when channeling light magic.Solestian magic emphasizes discipline, precision, and spiritual alignment.Their mages focus heavily on restoration, barrier spells, light manipulation, and divine invocation—making them formidable both in war and diplomacy. But it also makes them greedy.

Relationship with House Marwyn

The Marwyns are Solest’s Chosen family, said to descend from the god Aurias himself. Unlike the military nature of Rivain’s Avenharts, the Marwyns are known for their powerful magic, prophetic foresight, and aptitude for healing and spiritual communion. Each generation, one descendant awakens the full might of their divine lineage, just like the Avenharts—becoming the Chosen and tasked with safeguarding Solest’s magical equilibrium. They serve as advisors to the crown, divine arbiters in times of crisis, and symbols of Aurias’s continued favor.Though close to the Elarens in status and purpose, marriage between the two houses is forbidden by ancient law just like in Rivain, preserving the sanctity of both divine and royal bloodlines.

Advancements and Hierarchy

Solest’s society thrives on structure. Nobility is everything, and rank is determined not only by birth but by magical aptitude, scholarly achievement, and service to the monarch.Magic is both a political tool and a religious one. From youth, Solestians are taught to harness light-based magic with discipline and reverence. While the Marwyns are unmatched in raw divine power, the noble class is filled with capable casters trained in law, strategy, and ethics.Power is sharpened by intellect—and magic serves the state.
